September 4th - 7th

Science - Getting ready to observe plants.  The kids planted radishes, corn, barley and peas into their soil.  They were watered by determining the amount of water to use - either dry, moist, very moist and wet.  We will watch to see how our plants grow.

Math - creating geometry shapes to determine the attributes found with each shape.

Learning how to use a compass.  We then used the compass to make an inscribed square.

Language Arts - Writing our color poems.

Class Meetings: We meet in the mornings to discuss our journaling and then do an activity which helps build our community.  This morning's activity was called "Copy Cat" where the kids had to use directions to get their partners to strike a pose similar to their friends.  Lots of fun!

Science - Our meal worms have arrived!  The kids enjoyed getting to meet their new friends.
