Tinker Tuesday - The kids will be doing a variety of activities over a two week time period until April.

 National Puzzle Day - January 29th

Literacy - Vocabulary work on synonyms and antonyms.

Math - Getting introduced to the Powers of 10.

Friday, January 31st - Our PBIS Reward - Game Day!

January 20th - 24th

Reading - Reviewing Inferences using poems written for kids.

Science - Erosion!  The kids loved working with the stream tables.

Reading Buddies!  Thanks to Carol from the Wellman Scofield Library, the kids all "adopted" a reading buddy and committed to reading to them 15 minutes every day.  It has helped put a "spark" back into our reading.

Fort Day!  For earning 5 golden tickets, the kids voted on have a day to work inside a fort.  They were very creative with their designs! 

Jan 2 & 3 and Jan 6th - 10th

Math - Learning how to do partial product multiplication through playing the game Multiplication Wrestling.

New project - Visiting Ms. Lori's Preschool and reading to her students. A great way to work on our fluency work!

Our PBIS winner for January - Kenna Schrock.  Congratulations!

Science - Observing the sediments which remain after our acid rain (vinegar) experiment.

Miss Megan from the Washington County Conservation Office came and did a presentation about soils.  Learning about the different layers in soil and which type of soil is important for the farmers in our area.

Afterwards, we observed our soils from the playground...did we find the same type of soils?
